Collection

Scrap tires generated from the sale of new tires are collected on a regular basis directly from all participating retailer locations throughout Saskatchewan. This is facilitated by collection companies contracted to the SSTC to collect tires for delivery to approved processing facilities.

The program pays a transportation incentive for the transport of scrap tires from the generating site to the nearest eligible processor. Eligible tires in the program are passenger, light and medium truck tires. These are collected from retailers, auto salvage yards and landfill sites and are transported to processors' sites.
