Tires from vehicles classified as “highway” vehicles up to and including a 24.5 inch rim size are captured by the program, with an estimated 90 percent of all tires being passenger/light truck tires with a rim size less than 17 inches, and the remaining 10 percent of the tires being heavier/larger semi truck tires with rim sizes between 17 inches and 24.5 inches.

The Board shall use revenue from the collection of levies for the costs of implementing, operating, and administering the tire collection, transportation, recycling, processing, disposal and handling program.
