Ultimate Goal

The goal of New Brunswick's Tire Stewardship program is to protect the environment from the negative impacts of scrap tire disposal by effectively diverting such material from the waste stream for recycling instead…..into a variety of new economically viable 'value-added' products.

A key stewardship principle states that all those involved in the production and use of particular product should play a continuing role in managing any waste associated with that use. New Brunswick's TSP is based squarely on this principle. A multi-stakeholder enterprise delivering sustainable province-wide tire recycling….. the TSP is also designed to maximize the program's positive economic impact among New Brunswickers.
