Regulations administered by the New Brunswick Fire Marshal's
Office apply to any tire stopckpiles in the Province. Since the
TSP was introduced in 1996, however, the number of existing stockpiles
in NB has steadily lessened to the point that very few remain.
NBTSB frequently underwrites the cost of cleaning up any old
stockpile or illegal dump which may be discovered by local residents.
As noted above, however, the TSP-related 'dollar' value of scrap
tires in the Province has served as a preventive force against
the rise of any major new 'waste tire' stockpiles in New Brunswick.
