Scrap tires covered by the NB Tire Stewardship Program (TSP) are those with rim sizes between 8 inches and 24.5 inches. Unless the customer specifically indicates an intention to keep his or her old tires for re-use at a later date (ie. snow tires in good condition for the next winter season), they are retained by tire retailers after the installation of new units.

Regular collection service for 'scrap' tires is provided to retail outlets throughout New Brunswick by transport companies working under the auspices of the TSP. These collected scrap tires may be stored on the retailers' property for a very short period of time……using an approved system…. before they are picked up and transported to the Province's recycling and processing facility.
